FreeEvent Navigation
The Great American Read is an ambitious educational and community outreach campaign developed by PBS. It is designed to get the country reading and talking about books. From the 100 suggested titles, this series will explore books representing three different genres.
University of the Cumberlands Professor Kathy Fish will discuss Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women from the classic genre during Session 1. It’s the heartwarming story of the March sisters-Jo, Meg, Amy, and Beth-and the courage, humor, and ingenuity they display to survive poverty and the absence of their father during the Civil War.
Prior to each session, a limited number of books will be available for checkout at the Circulation Desk while supplies last.
