TED Talk: Changing the Way We See Native Americans

The opening event for the Native Voices exhibit sponsored by the American Library Association and the U.S. National Library of Medicine, will include a viewing of the TED Talk: Changing the Way We See Native Americans that features renowned Native American and photographer Matika Wilbur who has photographed citizens of each of the 566 federally recognized tribes in the U.S.
Following the viewing, participants will join in an informal open discussion led by Somerset Community College Associate Professor Melinda Allen.
The U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM) developed and produced Native Voices: Native Peoples’ Concepts of Health and Illness. The American Library Association (ALA) Public Programs Office, in partnership with the NLM, tours the exhibition to America’s libraries.
All events offered by the Laurel County Public Library are free to attend unless otherwise noted in the description above.
